Vision 60 Version 5.4 Q-UGV
The Vision 60 integrates Ghost Robotics’ proprietary control architecture with advanced autonomous capabilities designed for real-world operational environments. At its core, the platform runs Mission Control, Ghost Robotics’ web-based command interface that provides operators with comprehensive telemetry monitoring, system health diagnostics, and mission status tracking through an intuitive single-pane-of-glass interface.
The robot’s navigation system leverages real-time 3D LiDAR-based SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) for autonomous operation in both GPS-enabled and GPS-denied environments. This dual-mode capability ensures continuous operation whether navigating open terrain with satellite positioning or operating inside buildings, tunnels, or under dense canopy where GPS signals are unavailable. The system dynamically generates and updates environmental maps, enabling point-and-click mission planning where operators can simply designate waypoints on a map for autonomous execution.
Proprietary Blind-Mode Operation
A distinguishing feature of the Vision 60 is its proprietary blind-mode control core that mimics mammalian locomotion patterns. This biomimetic approach allows the robot to maintain mobility even when visual sensors are compromised by environmental factors such as mud, rain, snow, dust, or direct sunlight. While other quadrupedal platforms may become paralyzed when sensors fail, the Vision 60 continues operating through proprioceptive feedback and learned terrain adaptation, prioritizing mission completion over sensor dependency.
Advanced Capabilities
The Vision 60’s AI integration enables dynamic path planning with real-time obstacle avoidance and terrain assessment. The system processes data from its sensor suite—including five RGB cameras, four Intel RealSense depth sensors, and optional LiDAR—to build comprehensive environmental awareness. This multi-modal perception allows the robot to identify traversable paths, detect hazards, and adaptively adjust its gait for optimal stability across varying terrain types.
For extended operations, the platform supports hot-swappable battery configurations and can maintain standby operations with active sensors and communications for up to 21 hours. The robot’s modular architecture facilitates rapid payload integration, supporting everything from additional sensor packages to manipulator arms, with standardized mounting interfaces and power/data connections. Communication flexibility is built-in, with native WiFi and LTE connectivity plus support for tactical radios from Silvus, Persistent Systems, and Rajant, ensuring reliable command and control across diverse operational scenarios.
The control interface supports multiple operational modes—from direct teleoperation via the ruggedized tablet controller to semi-autonomous follow-me functions and fully autonomous patrol patterns. Operators can seamlessly transition between control modes based on mission requirements, maintaining situational awareness through the robot’s sensor feeds while leveraging its autonomous capabilities to reduce cognitive load during complex operations.
